Music At York Minster
It is difficult to imagine a cathedral without music. The very acts of singing, playing and hearing music connects us to levels and ranges of meaning which go beyond words. Music has always been at the heart of worship and our Choristers, Choral Scholars, Songmen and Organists are part of a living tradition which has evolved over thousands of years.
The Minster is keen to acknowledge and preserve these traditions, but also to explore how contemporary choral music can connect us with our faith and enrich our lives today.
